ORDERING

HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?

All orders, with the exception of bespoke orders must be placed through our online shop here. We will send you a link to place a bespoke order.

HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU NEED?

Generally, available dates are released 6 months in advance. If you require your order on a Friday please note these are our most in-demand dates and get booked up far in advance so we always advise booking as soon as possible.

DO YOU HAVE A SHOP?

We don't, but we currently supply our bakes to a number of cafes & restaurants around the Island.

DO YOU MAKE FONDANT CAKES?

Unfortunately we don’t specialise in fondant or novelty cakes and we won't copy designs of other cake makers.

DO YOU CATER FOR SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?

All of our bakes are suitable for vegetarians and we can create bakes without using gluten, dairy, soya and egg as well as vegan friendly alternatives. However all our bakes are produced on a premises where nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soya and wheat (gluten) are used.

ARE YOUR BAKES SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH NUT ALLERGIES?

All of our cakes & sweet treats are baked in the same bakery so it's possible that they will all contain traces of nuts. However, only a few of our bakes actually contain whole nuts, please ask before ordering.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

All orders are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the unlikely event that Frostbite Bakery is unable to fulfil your original order for reasons outside of our control, your payment will be fully refunded.

DAMAGE

Upon collection, orders should be inspected to ensure their quality and that they are free of damage, as we do not accept responsibility for any damage caused after receipt of the order.

LOCAL DELIVERY

DO YOU OFFER DELIVERY?

We currently only offer delivery for wedding orders, corporate orders and sometimes tiered cakes. We can deliver to your home, workplace or venue such as a restaurant or hotel provided they are willing to accept the delivery on your behalf and there is room for it to be stored in a fridge if necessary (we will provide instructions). You will need to check this with them.

STORAGE

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY BAKE?

All our bakes are highly fragile and perishable items as we do not use preservatives. Once collected/delivered cakes need to be stored in a fridge to keep the buttercream looking sharp and then removed half an hour before serving. Cheesecakes should be stored in a fridge until serving. Cupcakes, brownies & other bakes can be stored at room temperature.

I’VE COLLECTED MY BAKE, WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO CARE FOR IT?

When picking up your cake, make sure you hold it from the bottom of the box only. Never carry the box from the top or sides as this will cause damage.

Make sure your cake is level at all times. During transportation, refrigeration and display.

Put your air conditioning on cold and keep it on full blast for the duration of your journey home with your cake.

The safest place for your cake is in the front passenger foot well or the boot as long as both of these surfaces are completely flat. Avoid sudden stops, turns & bumps on the road.

Once at your destination, put your cake straight in your fridge in the box it is supplied in.

Remove your cake from the fridge no more than an hour before you intend to cut it. Keep away from direct sunlight & heat when on display.

Once your cake has left us, it is your responsibility. It is a very delicate item, please take extra special care of it!

WEDDING CAKES

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK MY WEDDING CAKE?

We open our diary on the 1st of January for the following years events. For example, if you’d like to book in for 2024, you’ll need to wait until the 1st of January 2023. If you are a last-minute couple, we will do our very best to accommodate your wedding!

DO YOU DELIVER WEDDING CAKES ANYWHERE IN THE UK?

Due to being located on the Isle of Wight and the high ferry costs, we only offer delivery across the Island. However, we can meet you at any Island ferry port for you to transport your cake the rest of the way. We don’t recommend this though as our cakes are very fragile!

All of our cakes & sweet treats are baked in the same bakery so it's possible that they will all contain traces of all allergens.

ARE YOU AVAILABLE ON MY WEDDING DATE?

Please get in touch with your date and we will confirm our availability. Please bear in mind that weekend dates in peak season (May-September) are often the most popular and tend to be booked far in advance.

DELIVERY & SET UP

We only offer delivery across the Isle of Wight, however we can meet you at any Island ferry port for you to transport your order the rest of the way if your venue is off the Island. Although, we do not recommend this, as cakes are very fragile and shouldn’t be transported long distances. Delivery & set up at your venue, on the Island, is included in the price of your wedding cake. It is not included with any other order such as dessert tables etc. Dessert/Grazing tables also incur a set-up fee. If supplying one, your cake topper must be delivered to us the week before the wedding date or left at your venue for us to add to your cake on the day.

DAMAGE

Upon delivery, orders should be inspected to ensure their quality and that they are free of damage, as we do not accept responsibility for any damage caused after receipt of the order. This includes any melting which may occur during summer months due to hot weather conditions. If possible, your cake should be kept in a cool place to reduce the risk of damage occurring. We will always take photos upon delivery of the order to confirm it’s appearance.

FRESH FLOWERS

Any flowers/foliage must be ordered by yourself from your florist and we will then liaise with your chosen florist before your wedding day to discuss on-the-day timings etc. Please note that a lot of fresh flowers are not safe to consume so all flowers must be wired & sealed by your florist before we can add them to your wedding cake.  There are also a lot of toxic flowers used in wedding bouquets that we cannot and will not use on your cake, even if they have been sealed. We will do our utmost to check that none of the flowers/foliage used on your cake are of the toxic variety, however we are not held responsible for any reactions/illness/death that could occur if a toxic flower/foliage is supplied to us to use on the cake. They must be left at your venue for us to add to your cake on the day, we are not responsible for collecting your flowers from your florist. We will happily provide dimensions and images to your florist where necessary however the costs of flowers/foliage and ultimate decision will be between yourself and your florist.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICY

Wedding/Event orders are subject to a £100 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit being collected at time of order. The balance is then due 1 month before your wedding/event date. Failure to pay this may result in cancellation of your order. Changes to the design/size of the order may incur an additional charge and must be finalised 1 month before the delivery date. Changes to the date of delivery may result in cancellation of the order and retaining of any monies paid. If a cancellation is made less than 1 month before the original delivery date, any monies paid will not be refunded. Where possible, we will do our best to accommodate any design changes. Deposits cannot be transferred to another order or another date in the case of cancellation. A deposit for a cake cannot be used for a dessert/grazing table instead or vice versa. In the unlikely event that Frostbite Bakery is unable to fulfil your order for reasons outside of our control, your payment will be fully refunded but no additional compensation will be given.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS & ALLERGIES

All of our bakes are suitable for vegetarians and we can create bakes without using gluten, dairy and egg as well as vegan friendly alternatives. However, none of our bakes are 100% free-from as they are produced in a kitchen where all of these allergens are present.

SAMPLES

We offer tasting boxes which can be ordered online and either posted out to you or collected from the bakery. These can be made to suit most dietary requirements. Please note, these are only available on a few dates of our choosing, out of wedding season. If you book your wedding/event with less than a year’s notice, it’s likely that you may miss the chance to sample these, however you can still order cupcakes to collect from the bakery. These samples are not free as they are not factored info the cost of your wedding cake.
